- What is it?
Phu Quoc is also called the Pearl Island, the largest island in Vietnam, is also the largest of 22 islands in this population, located in the Gulf of Thailand. Phu Quoc Island, along with other islands forming Phu Quoc island district, Kien Giang provine. The entire island has a total area of 589.23 km² (according to statistics of land in 2005), nearly the size of Singapore island 1960s before leveling reclamation. Duong Dong Town, located in the northwest, is the capital of the island.

Phu Quoc is located 120 km from Rach Gia and Ha Tien town 45 km. In 2006, the biosphere reserve of coast and island district, Kien Giang including this area recognized by UNESCO as world biosphere reserve.

Phu Quoc is beautiful island deep in the Gulf of Thailand, Kien Giang province. To visit Phu Quoc island, traveler could take a flight from Noi Bai domestic airport of Hanoi or from Tan Son Nhat airport of Sai Gon city.
Another option, tourists also could take a bus from Saigon city to Rach Gia and embark the boat to Phu Quoc island.
